In just a few days time, Cartier will be having its first-ever pop-up in Singapore which is open to the public from Nov 15-17.
This is the first time Cartier is bringing the experiential pop-up to Southeast Asia, following the global launch of the Clash de Cartier collection in Paris earlier this year.
With a range of interactive activities throughout the space at the STPI Creative Workshop and Gallery at Robertson Quay, the luxury brand wants guests to explore the collection in an unconventional and immersive space.
The Clash de Cartier collection is a new signature jewellery line that shakes up the Maison’s aesthetic heritage of studs, beads and clous carrés. It is a classic that balances clean design with a burst of energy; and a certain sense of seriousness with original charm (read more about the editor-approved jewellery line here).
To celebrate the inaugural pop-up, South Korean actor, Ji Chang-Wook, will also be in Singapore on Nov 14 to grace the launch. The last time the star visited Singapore was in 2015.
The 32-year-old actor, who was discharged from the military in April, is best known for playing the lead actor in action thriller, “Healer”. After the drama aired in December 2014, Ji Chang-Wook rose to popularity in Singapore, China and other parts of Asia. For his role in “Healer”, Ji Chang-Wook won the Popularity Award and Best Couple Award with Park Min-Young at the 2014 KBS Drama Awards, and Most Popular Overseas Actor at the 2015 China TV Drama Awards. His latest drama, “Melting Me Softly”, a fantasy romantic comedy, is currently airing on tvN.

Echoing the Paris launch, the pop-up, which is open from 11am to 9pm over three days, will feature similar themes of literature, music and art, all in opposition.
The activities are designed to play on the duality of the Clash de Cartier collection, inviting guests to explore their own “Clash” of attitudes.
And since this Southeast Asian edition of the pop-up is held in Singapore, a city full of contrasts, guests can look forward to rooms with subtle local touches.
Creative works by Michel Gaubert and Thomas Lélu will also be showcased at the pop-up here.
Each journey will begin either at the “Bookstore” or the “Record Store”. Guests will have to take a simple questionnaire to determine their starting point.
Book lovers will enjoy the Bookstore. The genres and themes of books will be deliberately contradicting. So keep an open mind and you might be delighted at what you’ll chance upon.
In this room, guests are able to do a simple personality test to determine their “Clash” alter ego personality, which will be translated into a personalised Haiku poem crafted by the Haiku poets stationed within the room.
Each guest’s customised Haiku poem will be typed out by an old school typewriter and given to guests to take with them as a memento.
When you enter the Record Room that’s been installed with sound showers, you’ll be greeted with a Clash de Cartier playlist curated by leading French sound designer, Michel Gaubert.
As with the Bookstore, you can expect a clash of music genres from classical to rock.
And if you like what you hear, simply scan a Spotify code onsite to have the special playlist in your own Spotify account.
If you are looking for a cafe to lounge at on the weekend, look no further than Clash de Cartier’s cafe at the pop-up.
The cafe is no ordinary cafe because one half of it will be rather local, while the other half is designed to be contemporary European so guests can get the best of both worlds when they visit.
As a special treat from Cartier, every guest also gets to enjoy a complimentary “Clash” pastry and drink.
There is also a daily local DJ performance at the Cafe from 6pm to 9pm.
Throughout the pop-up, guests will find many Instagram-worthy spots including an area with an optical illusion where the world of Clash de Cartier can be viewed upside down.
Additionally, guests can also go home with their portraits printed with specially created elements themed on Clash de Cartier, designed by renowned French author and artist, Thomas Lélu.
Of course, when you are there, feel free to try on the Clash de Cartier collection too.
We are excited already. What about you?
