Every aspiring fashion girl will recognise Emily Blunt from her breakthrough role in The Devil Wears Prada(2006). After all, who can forget Emily Charlton, the high-strung character with an acerbic tongue who was the first assistant to demanding editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly (played by Meryl Streep)?

The British-born star’s’ film career skyrocketed after her role, and she went on to snag lead roles in films such as Queen Victoria (2009, as Queen Victoria), The Huntsman: Winter’s War (2016, as ice queen Freya) and A Quiet Place (2018, as Evelyn Abbott), to name a few.

This December, she returns to the silver screen as the title character in Mary Poppins Returns (which will hit the screens on Dec 27, according to Popcorn SG). Want to look as effortlessly stylish and put-together as her? Here are three of her best and most elegant looks that you can recreate — at a more affordable price.

1. A blue co-ordinate

Ah, how we love a matching skirt-suit combination. Not only does it exude sass, it flaunts your feminine figure too, like how it did for Blunt. She donned a tweed blue coordinate, but we say go for denim instead — it’s more contemporary and infinitely more comfortable in our weather. Pair this denim set from Topshop with a ruffled polka-dot blouse and top it off with an olive green purse. Oh, don’t forget to finish your ensemble with a satin red lippie. As for your shoes? A pair of chunky mid-heel pumps will work just fine.

2. The flowy, floral printed number

A floral printed number can be pretty casual, but Blunt gave it oodles of spunk by slipping on some sexy red stilettos to go with it. We chose this Zara piece with sleeves so you can take it from boardroom to bar — it is sleek enough for that morning meeting, yet sufficiently sensual when you go for a tipple after six. Just make sure your soles are in red satin and put on some understated jewellery, like a simple chain necklace and a gold ring, to round up the look.

3. The dress with trench ensemble

The girl loves her floral dresses. This time, she’s seen in a light pink and black piece that’s cinched at the waist, with a trench thrown over her shoulders rather so casually. Since many of us will be travelling to colder climates during this period, take a leaf from her book and garb yourself in a cool pink dress while on vaycay, like this velvet party-ready piece. Put on a trench and don a pair of pink heels, and you’re ready for a fun evening out.
