Start the new Lunar New Year off right by wearing the “right” colour for your Chinese Zodiac animal.

According to Feng Shui there are particular colours that are best for certain animals – although there’s also some dispute amongst the masters as to exactly which ones are 100 per cent correct.

We’ve gone with one of the best sources of all things “Chinese New Year”, CCTV.

RAT
Auspicious colours to wear for CNY12 RAT
blue and red; if you were born in the first half of the year, blue is best; red is best if born in the second half of the year. Avoid black
OX
Auspicious colours to wear for CNY12 OX
all shades of yellow; it will help to “enliven” the ox and help you do things more easily. Avoid white and green
TIGER
Auspicious colours to wear for CNY12 TIGER
white; this is the colour of your energy for the whole Dragon year; avoid red and orange
RABBIT

red, preferably tending towards purple to counteract the “five yellow evil spirits”; avoid grey and black
DRAGON
