Coco Chanel’s little black jacket really went round the block this time – 129 celebrities and personalities donned the iconic piece to have their picture taken by Karl Lagerfeld. Carine Roitfeld, global fashion director of Harper’s Bazaar, faced her biggest task to date – she was to dress all 129 of Lagerfeld’s subjects – from Lagerfeld’s five-year-old godson Hudson Kroenig to zany musician and wife of late Beatle John Lennon, Yoko Ono. Amazingly, they all looked different.

The combined fruits of their labour – the exhibition of “The Little Black Jacket: CHANEL’s classic revisited by Karl Lagerfeld and Carine Roitfeld” – travelled throughout the world from Tokyo, New York, Milan, Beijing and more. The photographs have finally made their way to Singapore. From now until January 1, 2014, the exhibition that includes 21 new images and others selected from the photo book of the same name, featuring the iconic piece, will make the ArtScience Museum its home.

Chanel unveiled the exhibition with a classy bang on November 8, 2013. Korean actress Song Hye Kyo and supermodel Karolina Kurkova had flown down for the occasion and so did French actress Alma Jodorowsky, Chinese model Xiao Wen and Korean model Soo Joo – who are part of the new faces to the book and exhibition. Also in attendance were local models Sheila Sim and Liv Lo, Thai actress Chompoo Araya and radio DJs Rosalyn Lee.

See whether you can spot them in the video below.

The Little Black Jacket exhibition will run from November 9, 2013 to January 1, 2014 at the Singapore ArtScience Museum, opening hours: 10am to 7pm daily; admission to the Chanel exhibition is free. Go to www.marinabaysands.com/singapore-museum for more information.
