Michael Kors recently released a capsule collection about the Qixi Festival and we’re stoked about it.

Qixi Festival, also known as the Chinese version of Valentine’s Day, is an annual festival that commemorates the romantic rendezvous between a cowherd and a weaver maid in Asian mythology.

Here’s a quick history of the festival: Qi means seven and Xi means night in Chinese, the star-crossed lovers could only meet during the seventh night of the seventh month in the Chinese lunar calendar. Hence, this annual festival typically falls in August, according to the Gregorian calendar.

To celebrate this upcoming festival, Michael Kors released a capsule collection that features illustrations of heart and star motifs, as well as words like “XOXO,” “LOVE” and “KORS”, in shades of carmine red, black and soft pink.

You’ll be able to find this graffiti print fashioned on the brand’s ready-to-wear, bags, shoes and accessories. The fun part? These garbs sport vibrant splashes of red, which will be perfect if you’re still on the lookout for your new #OOTD for National Day.

So you may wonder, what’s the relationship between the American fashion label and the Qixi Festival?

Earlier this month, Michael Kors announced that Chinese celebrities Lareina Song and Leo Wu as their new brand ambassadors for China.

The campaign for this collection — which is shot by Kai Z Feng, a renowned Chinese photographer who has had his works published on several Vogue editions like US, Britain and China — is fronted by both Lareina and Leo.

Here’s a sneak peek to some of the items that is available at all Michael Kors’ stores islandwide (except for its IMM outlet store). P.s. They are so cute.

Prices start from S$199 for a card case and from S$1,399 for a leather jacket.
