Marni is looking for a partner to help double its sales over the next five years.

The Italian fashion label has big plans for the coming years. To help boost its retail business, the house’s chief creative officer Gianni Castiglioni has confirmed a financial backer will be needed.

“We would like to double our sales in five years through a further development of retail, but without drastically overturning our company,” Gianni told WWD.

“I would be open to considering a partner, only if he would share my vision in managing the company. We are looking at industrial partners that can provide competence and long-term vision.”

Gianni’s wife Consuelo Castiglioni set up the company in 1994 and remains the label’s creative director.

The label is hoping to expand into China, which has been a popular move with many of the big fashion houses over the last few years.

However, Gianni denied speculation the label will be going public any time soon.

“Perhaps in four or five years, when Marni has bigger volumes,” he said. – COVER MEDIA
