Marios Schwab finds it “a little bit weird” when women complain of being too curvy.

The designer makes edgy, body-con dresses which often boast visible seams and quirky detailing.

He works hard to ensure his pieces appeal to everyone and hopes they make women appreciate their figures.

“I think because they’re honest on the body,” he told the December edition of UK magazine InStyle, when asked why females love his creations so much.

“Some designers create their collections for a catwalk-sized girl and certain details are applied that, once they go up to a size 16, just don’t make sense any more. The shape of the body inspires me, so I make clothes to enhance curves. When women say, ‘I’m too curvy,’ I find that a little bit weird. I like curves. I don’t want her to be like a stick.”

Seaming is something Marios is known for, and which he is proud of. The designer goes to great lengths to ensure his clothing looks exquisite from all angles – even the bits most people won’t see.

“I studied in a very traditional college in Austria where you learnt proper English and French tailoring,” he explained. “We would make the inside of a piece look as beautiful as the outside. That became an interesting concept for me, so I began revealing the inside within the outside.” – COVER MEDIA
