Digital fatigue is real. In a bid to become the biggest and boldest, we often find ourselves tangled in a web of trends, many of which we might not even be able to relate to. Mango’s #BEanICON campaign launch is thus a timely one – a gentle reminder that personality is the best trend when dressing up.
Collaborating with six personalities – each with a distinct style – from the worlds of fashion and culture, Mango showcased the talents in their “world” decked in its F/W ’19 collection.
The intimate yet spirited photographs, captured through the lens of American photographer Dan Martensen, had three goals: 1) to demonstrate Mango’s desire to work closely with the community, 2) to illustrate the limitless nature of one’s personal style and, 3) to encourage people to develop their own style with their threads.
Here’s what you need to know about the six inspiring personalities fronting Mango’s #BEanICON campaign.

1. Jeanne Damas

With perfectly tousled hair, pouty red lips and a laissez-faire fashion sense, Damas is the epitome of Parisian chic. The 27-year-old model and founder of clothing label Rouje Paris has collaborated with Mango in various campaigns, including “A trip with Jeanne Damas” in 2018 – a lookbook series shot in Scotland.
2. Andre Saraiva

One of the most influential graffiti artists today, Saraiva is known for his “Love Graffiti project” – a graffiti series of people’s names commissioned by their loved ones in unmissable pop colours near where they live. The Swedish artist is in fact no stranger to Mango, and has been collaborating with Mango Man for the Andre x Mango capsule collection since 2018. The collection, which just dropped its second instalment last week, is characteristic of Saraiva’s lighthearted and sanguine style.
3. Pernille Teisbaek

As the co-founder, stylist and creative director of Denmark-based influencer marketing agency Social Zoo, Teisbaek is a respected fashion influencer known for her Scandi-chic style. Also one of the #Mangogirls, she has collaborated with the brand for “A day with Pernille Teisbaek”, an intimate lookbook series that showcases her knack for putting a twist on classic, casual pieces.
4. Justin O’Shea

Another established street style star, O’Shea is perhaps one of the most familiar faces in the Fashion Week circuit. After all, it is difficult to miss the bearded, tattooed badass. The founder of menswear label SSS World Corp has also been credited with growing Munich-based Mytheresa from a small retailer to a luxury e-commerce giant.
5. Veronika Heilbrunner

The fashion It girl has been one of the brand’s #Mangogirls for several seasons now, and it’s not hard to see why. The style editor of Harper’s Bazaar Germany often proposes surprising combinations which remind us that rules are there to be broken. Particularly inspiring: her take on maternity dressing when she was expecting last year.
6. Shuhei Nishiguchi

Fashion director of Japanese label Beams, Nishiguchi is a familiar face in the street style scene. Known for his contemporary twist on classic pieces, he effortlessly mixes both formal and casual pieces within a single look. The consistency of his elegant and nonchalant style is precisely why he is an icon to many.
