Marc Jacobs thinks Louis Vuitton’s Fall/Winter 12 line is magical.

The fashion house has unveiled the promotional shots for the upcoming collection. It was presented at Paris Fashion Week in March, with a train entering the Louvre museum serving as the main focal feature.

The vehicle has been recreated for the new images, with ten models showing off looks from the line as they are looked after by four porters.

“I think there’s a lightness and a magic to everything we showed this season and they’re really captured perfectly in these images,” Marc said in a video posted on GraziaDaily.

The pictures were taken by Steven Meisel, with Guido styling the hair and Pat McGrath on make-up duty.

Models are seen carrying huge animal-print purses, with floppy versions of top hats perched on their heads. Polo necks and bold patterns also feature, with jackets, waistcoats, and A-line dresses set off with dazzling statement buttons and strong lapels.

“We wanted to maintain the comfortingly luxurious and old-fashioned journey that the collection represented,” the designer says in the behind-the-scenes clip.

“Opulence, the brocades, the beautiful cuts of the suits, and I guess, the distant romantic glamour of travel.”
