Prada’s Spring Summer 2023 womenswear collection – an ongoing partnership between co-creative directors Raf Simons and Miuccia Prada – featured a fresh new spin on corporate wear. Skinny- fit trousers seemed to be the piece de resistance, with designs that were styled with trench coats and oversized blazers. For those who are looking for outfits to wear on casual Fridays, there was even the option of pairing the trousers with a sheer knee-length tunic.

The Italian brand’s penchant for skinny trousers can be traced back to the early 2000s, when its designs were mostly presented in capri-lengths.

And with Y2K trends being all the rage these days, it’s hardly surprising that the skinny trousers are back in fashion.

Another designer who opted for the dress- over-skinny-trousers combo is Ferragamo’s newly minted creative director Maximilian Davis. The British designer’s vision for the brand was to incorporate new fabrications and silhouettes, including the reintroduction of skinny trousers.
