It was a dreary, rainy Thursday afternoon when I was tasked to go meet this “really cute guy”.

My colleague Googled and showed me the photo of said cute guy, Godfrey Gao. He was a Taiwanese actor making a guest appearance at the DKNY fashion show the same evening.

Naturally, after ogling his dashing good looks, the entire fashion team from Her World had to go! So off we went to catch the latest spring ready-to-wear fashion show – organised by Club 21 – at the Ferrari showroom.

The show was held at the Ferrari showroom to tie in with the sporty looks presented this season. Party guests included the media and fashion insiders, who enjoyed lots of champagne while waiting for the show to start.

The celebrity guests of the night included Hong Kong model Angelababy and Taiwanese actor Godfrey Gao. I swear he looked at me right at the eye at this very moment. We would have struck up a conversation but he was whisked away by his minder.

Bumped into my pal, fashion blogger Xiao Wen.

Guess which celebrities sat right opposite me in the front row?

The first look to hit the runway– Graffiti prints on a blazer and skirt, paired with sexy strappy platform sandals. What a way to kickstart the summer!

Jumpsuits are still big this summer, being so sporty and fun. Plus it’s in my favourite colour – Pink!

Super cool with a boyfriend blazer with cuffed sleeves and a hint of floral prints peeking beneath.

Lots of edgy graffiti prints with bright splashes of colour.

Somewhere in between these pictures, models tripped on the slippery runway – making everyone gasp – and there was a nip slip or two. Always something to add a bit of drama. Anyway, on with the show…

The 80s made a comeback with plenty of sequins on the runway. Angelababy wore the same sequinned mini dress on the left.

Models and celebs posing in front of the New York city skyline, except that we were in Leng Kee Road.

Godfrey and Angelababy were mobbed by eager partygoers so I couldn’t get a proper photo of them.

Overall, a fun night filled with fun clothes that were super summer-ready and a hit with the crowd. Hundreds of guests mingled and enjoyed the tunes at the after party, with everyone noticeably excited about the new collection.

Party guests and fashionista Bella Koh, 29, style consultant, quipped: “The collection stayed true to its identity of being ultra wearable. The sequin dresses were definitely show worthy. It was so crowded today but champagne always helps us enjoy a great show!”

Fashion blogger Wai Xiao Wen, 27, who works corporate communications by day, had the same positive feedback: “I loved the sequins and prints. Definitely a must-have for a magpie like me!”
