Hakaan collection goes missingLondon-based label Hakaan has cancelled its Paris fashion show, set for Tuesday at 1:30 PM CET, after couriers reportedly lost the entire Spring/Summer 2013 collection.

Turkish-born designer Hakaan Yildirim, is based in London, and showed his first runway collection in the British capital in 2010, going on to win the prestigious ANDAM prize in the same year.

The French award, worth €220,000 (approximately S$348,536) is chaired by Yves Saint Laurent co-founder Pierre Bergé and has previously been awarded to talents like Viktor & Rolf and Hermès designer Christophe Lemaire.

A spokesperson for the designer confirmed to Relaxnews that the show at the Hotel Westin would not be taking place “as the collection has been lost by the courier company.”

All is not lost, “Hakaan is re-making the show pieces” and they will go on display at a press day scheduled later in the week.

Hakaan is not the only designer to suffer the fate of a courier mishap in November last year, Marc Jacob’s Spring-Summer 2012 line was stolen en route to London.
