If you’ve been in town recently, you definitely would not have missed Gucci’s newly renovated boutique at Paragon. Its magnificent five-storey façade and the store’s two floors feature the new design concept of designer Frida Giannini, Gucci’s Creative Director, in line with Gucci’s 21st century contemporary look.
The store is awash with natural light from its large windows, and signature Gucci materials such as rosewood and marble are complemented by fresh elements like ribbed glass, warm polished gold, smoked mirror and smoked bronze glass. A highlight of the store is the staircase delineated by vertical gold and clear plexi-glass rods, played up beautifully by the natural light pouring through.
Across the 10,000 square feet of space, you will find Gucci’s latest collection of handbags and luggage, along with fine jewelry, watches and accessories located on the ground floor, and women’s evening wear, runway fashion, men’s ready to wear, suits, shoes, ties and belts on the first floor.
In celebration of the newly revamped boutique, Gucci’s Frida Giannini has also designed a collection of items to benefit the Mainly I Love Kids (MILK) charity. MILK has been working to help disadvantaged children from troubled and impoverished communities since 2004.
The collection was inspired by the hybrid orchid named “Paravanda Frida”, which has beautiful white petals – an orchid honour presented by the Singapore Tourism Board, in association with the Singapore Botanic Gardens. The orchid is featured on the limited and special editions of Gucci’s Boston Bag in this collection.
The Paravanda Frida collection’s Boston Bags and wristlets are already in store. 100% of the collection’s Boston Bags sales will be donated to MILK.
The official Gucci store opening at Paragon is tomorrow and Frida Giannini will be making an appearance and will be presented with her namesake orchid, the Paravanda Frida.
