BEIJING — The first thing you’d think on seeing this red-carpet look is: Did Chinese actress Gao Yuanyuan just do a Taylor Swift?

No, she didn’t write a love song about an ex-boyfriend, but the cropped top and matching set look is so synonymous with the American songstress that it’s hard not to link the two together.

T-Swift aside, we gotta give Gao major style cred for scoring this fashion hat trick at the 2014 Sina Weibo Night Award Ceremony. The City of Life and Death actress cunningly pulled off – not one – but TWO fashion trends.

First, the matching crop top and skirt set is totally on-point and the look has been going strong for the past year. If you want to don a matchy-matchy look for Chinese New Year, you’re not too late to the party.

Second, huge floral patterns are, well, huge for Spring Summer 2015. This indigo embroidered set is from Michael Kors’ Spring 2015 collection.

For this busy print, she went accessory-free and completed the look with simple nude pointy pumps. We love that she kept the look simple and fuss-free with a messy-chic ponytail and a bright red lip.

This up-and-coming actress has been making bold strides on the fashion front. In 2014, she walked down the aisle in the dreamiest mesh and embroidery wedding dress designed by Chloe’s creative director Clare Waight Keller herself. See it to believe it.

In 2013, she modelled for H&M’s campaign in its Isabel Marant pour H&M collaboration, stepping out onto the Parisian streets in structured blazers and sequinned skinnies.

Only two words for this rising style star: J’adore!
