The newly revamped Funan Mall might no longer be a digital mall focused on IT. But that just means the refurbished mall is ramping up in other areas, from food to entertainment and of course, shopping. As a matter of fact, there are plenty of cool things to see and do at the shopping centre.

But we want to talk about their fashion offerings, because what would a mall be without them? Funan’s array of fashion labels — ranging from Love, Bonito and All Would Envy to Carrie K and The Form — show that the mall is going beyond the usual suspects, with brands that are youthful, unique and stylish. For some, their store in Funan would be their largest, first, or flagship. Below, we’ve scoured eight labels that will be opening shop in Funan and why we’re excited for them.

1. Intoxiquette

Intoxiquette (say: Intoxicate) is a local fashion e-retailer that has garnered over 50 thousand followers on its Facebook since its inception in 2008. Why? Intoxiquette retails stylish, wearable pieces that range from dresses, tops and bottoms to bags and shoes. So if you’re looking for your next outfit, Intoxiquette’s second boutique (its first boutique is in Centrepoint, Orchard) in Funan is the place to go. While you’re there, we recommend trying on the Hana eyelet dropwaist tunic dress and Verity oversized top.

2. Zoff

Japanese eyewear retailer Zoff has always been satiating its customers with contemporary, stylish glasses ever since it opened its first store in Singapore in April 2017. You can choose from six different types of lenses to accompany your new frames, such as its aspheric thin lenses (that reduces distortion to your vision) and progressive lenses (that helps to better focus on objects that are closer to you). Those frames that come with its standard lenses can be collected on the same day, in the matter of 30 minutes.

Having over three decades of experience in the world of horology, this American watch and lifestyle label has been wowing the crowd with edgy and au courant timepieces for both genders — all at wallet-friendly prices. Some of their few key pieces include the Tailor, Neely and Jacqueline.

4. Love, Bonito

Love, Bonito is one of the most recognisable homegrown fashion labels. And the blogshop-turned-formidable fashion brand is continuing its success with the opening of its third boutique in Singapore in Funan. If you thought that its other two stores in 313@Somerset and JEM were big, well think again: The Funan boutique is said to be its largest ever, covering over 6,000 square feet. Also new at this store are two spacious VIP rooms with wheelchair and pram priority access, as well as an on-demand book-a-stylist service for a more thoughtful and personalised shopping experience. What’s more, its Funan store will offer a greater assortment of sleek, office-friendly styles to cater to the working women in the vicinity. Looking for an #ootd spot? Its store boasts a ‘fashion runway’ that makes use of Augmented Reality (AR) — think field of flowers and more — and Facebook filters to create a one-of-a-kind backdrop.

5. All Would Envy

All Would Envy is a place for ladies who can’t get enough of colours and prints. Priding itself on creating stylish apparel that would make the wearer feel confident without burning a hole in the pocket, the online label will be opening its first physical store in Funan since launching in 2013. Here, fans would be able to touch and try the label’s vibrant and artistic pieces before making the purchase. Our current favourites are the Zoya Forest dress, the Tyrese rainbow stripes midi dress and the Horizon midi dress in Twilight for their unique pattern and colour combinations. But if you’re a minimalist at heart or love solid colours, fret not, because the brand also offers simple yet elegant pieces in its range.

6. Carrie K.

Local jeweller Carrie K. is known for its unique and modern take on the classic pearl jewellery. Its Funan store will be its flagship atelier and is also another spot where you can get its newest Icon jewellery line. Inspired by the bicentennial celebrations in Singapore, the Icon line was launched in May earlier. In addition, if you and your partner are having difficulties picking out gifts for each other or other loved ones, Carrie K. is introducing its Little Birdie service. It is a bespoke gifting service where the brand can recommend you pieces from its repertoire to match the fancies of the receiver. This service will definitely be much appreciated come Valentine’s Day, Christmas or birthdays.

7. The Form

Did you know that only 20 per cent of your wardrobe gets worn most of the time? To combat the wear-once-and-throw issue, local fashion label The Form, which turns one in July, aims to encourage more wears with evergreen and sophisticated designs that are created with quality materials. Pieces from this brand, ranging from tops and bottoms to jumpsuits and dresses, sport clean lines, neutral hues and minimal embellishments, and are best suited for those who prefer a more minimalist approach to their style. Funan will be the location of this e-tailer’s first concept boutique and would allow patrons to try on its pieces. That’s not all: The Form will launch a new collection that will be exclusive to its physical store for one month.

8. Anothersole

A fashion label that creates quality wear with a social conscious element will always get our dollars. Anothersole is such a label because a) it prides itself on well-made shoes crafted with premium leather upper and rubber soles and b) it has an admirable Buy1Feed1 initiative, in which it dedicates 10 per cent of its profits to feeding hungry children and supporting less fortunate communities. Not only that, Anothersole shoes have gained a cult following for their superior comfort, and many wear them on their travels. Previously only available via stockists, the Funan boutique will be its first standalone store.

9. Fash Mob

Maybe you’ve shopped on its online store or at its physical store in Plaza Singapura. Well, here’s another place to get your hands on Singaporean fashion label Fash Mob’s stylish pieces. Its store in Funan will be its flagship, and while we don’t have any more information on what that entails, we expect it’ll be bigger and carry an even larger range from its other store. With its signature feminine numbers that are designed in-house, Fash Mob’s pieces are versatile and wearable. Our current favourites are the Peri button midi for a chic work look and the Meghan tie top for the weekends.
