The 2013 Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix is about to kick off with the practice sessions taking place on September 20.

German Formula One driver Nico Rosberg has had a good season in 2013 – winning both the Monaco and British Grand Prix and a second place finish in the Italian Grand Prix earlier in September. While his fans are rooting for him take the checked flag here in Singapore to make it a hat-trick for 2013, one thing’s for certain – Rosberg is a winner in the fashion race.

Jewellery brand Thomas Sabo and Mercedes Benz hosted the Night of the Silver Stars party on September 19 where it was announced that the Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One driver is the new face of the Thomas Sabo Rebel at Heart 2014 campaign. Guests at the party were also treated to an exclusive preview of the upcoming Rebel at Heart 2014 collection.

Founder Thomas Sabo, a well-known motorsport enthusiast, said that Rosberg was the perfect candidate to be the face of the collection – an edgy watch and jewellery line for men. He said, ““Nico is young, dynamic and also a true rebel behind the steering wheel. He therefore perfectly reflects the ‘drive’ of our brand.”

Rosberg, who for the first time in his career took time out from the official engineering day to attend the party, identified with the masculine and sportive line. “The brand moreover presents passion and endurance, attributes that coin my racing and perfectly complement one another. For driving race cars you have to be a rebel at heart to do it well. You have to push the limit, attack and take risks. But never go beyond the limit. That’s a fine line. And this is what makes a winner in the end.”
