MILAN – Showcasing at Milan Fashion Week was Etro’s Autumn Winter 2013 collection by designer Veronica Etro.
Digital tribal prints in eye-tricking black and yellow shades whizzed down the runway.
These were enhanced by the clothes themselves which were cut into industrial shapes that clung to the body in a measured way.
Discussing her inspiration with Vogue.co.uk, Veronica said Blade Runner and Seven Years in Tibet were movies she based her collection on.
“It was about tradition and culture, the memory of the past. I imagined this woman to be customising herself today – with print in the digital era. The idea of restoration and layering,” Veronica explained.
“I had in my mind sportswear, motorcycle trousers. She’s half a biker but still spiritual, she’s tribal.”
