It’s an open secret that to get cooler, but still affordable basics, look to Uniqlo’s regular designer collabs. Since 2007, the Japanese retailer has regularly partnered with high fashion designers to create capsule collections of cooler, elevated basics that are still as easy to wear as regular Uniqlo.

The first one of the year is with Finnish print specialist Marimekko, for a collection of tees, blouses, culottes, dresses, canvas sneakers and bags with distinctive, nature-inspired prints by Maija Louekari, one of Marimekko’s world-renowned print designers. In case you’ve missed the memo, the collection launched last Friday to great response – which probably means not everything is still available for sale now. But here’s a heads up about the next designer collab to set a reminder for – Uniqlo x JW Anderson, launching on April 20.

The collection is a nod to Britain’s ’50s Brighton Beach heydays: beachwear-inspired striped T-shirts and knit polos; denim jackets; police uniform-inspired tunic shirts; knits and bags with whimsical seagull prints; and dresses, seersucker bomber jackets, flared skirts, and blouses with the label’s signature ruffles and ribbons. Prices: $5.90-$99.90.

It will be available online and at selected Uniqlo stores.
