Christian Louboutin is a “Texas rock star”, fashion fundraiser Becca Cason Thrash says.

The designer devotee compared the iconic French craftsman’s popularity in the US state to that of global musical icons because fans of his luxe footwear queued for hours to meet him.

According to WWD, Louboutin visited Houston for a two-day marathon of “public appearances, photo opps and cocktail parties” which ended in style with an intimate Tex-Mex dinner thrown by philanthropist Thrash.

“Christian doesn’t get to Texas all that often, so his public appearance at [department store] Saks was supposed to end at two, but at five there was still a line of people waiting. He’s turned into a Texas rock star,” she told the fashion publication.

Louboutin himself said he enjoyed his busy two days in the cowboy state.

The designer likes to get to know his customers because he thrives on their excitement and passion.

“I get so much positive energy from the women who come and see me. I like it when people tell you their story. It creates a sense of community,” he said. – COVER MEDIA
