Sustainability defines the theme of The Journey, a joint collaboration between Chopard and Livia Firth, Eco-Age creative director and founder of the Green Carpet Challenge (GCC). The launch of The Journey at the Cannes Film Festival on May 17, 2013, was graced by major celebrities including Marion Cotillard, Jane Fonda, Fan Bing Bing, Léa Seydoux, Colin Firth (Livia Firth’s husband), and Harvey Weinstein.

The Journey was kick-started with the creation of the Green Carpet Collection as part of the Chopard High Jewellery Collection. The first two High Jewellery pieces were spotted at the Premiere of Blood Ties, where Marion Cotillard strode down the red carpet adorned with the Green Carpet diamond bracelet and earrings.

Materials in these Green Carpet Jewellery pieces are wholly procured from sustainable sources – Fairmined gold from artisanal community mines in South America that are supported by the Alliance for Responsible Mining (ARM) and diamonds from mines certified under the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC). The High Jewellery diamond bracelet and earrings of Chopard’s Green Carpet Collection are then crafted in Chopard High Jewellery workshops.

Captivating in their elegance, Chopard’s Green Carpet jewellery pieces are the first to focus specifically on creating sustainable luxury for the future.
