How’s this for a creative pairing? She’s a 56-year-old French supermodel who is Roger Vivier’s super chic brand ambassador, while he is the designer responsible for the iconic French shoe label’s recent revival with hit styles like the Prismick sandals.

Ines, who was Karl Lagerfeld’s muse in the ’80s, is also known for her design chops – she recently teamed up with Uniqlo for a line that incorporates Parisian style. We caught up with Ines and Bruno when they were in town last week for the opening of Roger Vivier’s boutique at Ngee Ann City …
Three questions for Bruno Frisoni…
What makes Roger Vivier’s shoes different?
They’re classic and never in-your-face. Yet, there’s always a little twist – the silhouettes are graphic and the heels are always special.
What shoes should we add to our shopping bag now?
Shoes that shine – styles with transparent panels, PVC details, patent leather or metallic accents. Flowers are another big theme in our collection, and I think three-dimensional applique are a fun new way to wear florals.
What can we look forward to in Roger Vivier’s Spring/Summer 2014 collection?
We have a new line called the U Look, which reinterprets the brand’s iconic buckle detail. Bags have u-shaped metal details and shoes come with u-shaped heels.
Three questions for Ines de la Fressange …
Which Roger Vivier piece do you always turn to?
The flat shoes – I’m always in ballerina flats because they’re so convenient. Today, I am wearing our black lounge slippers – they’re the new ballerina flats for me. I also love our Diligence bag (and hope it never gets discontinued!) – when I’m in a hurry, I know that I can count on it to dress up my jeans and sweater look. I have four – a black croco skin style, and three leather ones in red, brown and black.
What are your other fashion staples?
I love Tod’s black loafers. My wardrobe is also full of navy blue jackets and sweaters. The last item is the white shirt – I must have hundreds (laughs) but I just got this silk one I’m wearing today from Celine. It’s fitted but slightly elongated and I think the proportions are perfect.
What are your tips on acing French chic?
Add little twists you to your outfit. You could have a simple jacket and pair of jeans on, but add interesting pieces like shoes with buckle details, vintage earrings or men’s accessories – I have a black croco skin belt on, for example!
