Céline cancels PFW runway showCéline will “simplify” its Fall/Winter 2012 showing at this year’s Paris Fashion Week.

The French house’s beloved creative director Phoebe Philo is pregnant with her third child.

To accommodate Phoebe, Céline has decided to scale down its operations at the showcase.

“The objective is to simplify,” Céline CEO Marco Gobbetti told Women’s Wear Daily.

Céline will keep its assigned March 4 time slot, but will not walk their collection.

The house is thought to be showing its apparel to editors and buyers in more informal showrooms instead. The public is unlikely to view Phoebe’s designs until editors publish them in magazine spreads this fall.

Phoebe worked at Chloé between 1997 and 2006, before leaving to spend more time with her family. In 2008, it was announced she had been appointed the creative director of Céline.

Since 2010 Phoebe has showcased two collections for the house, both of which has received rave reviews.

Phoebe received the International Award for best designer outside of the US at the CFDA Awards in New York City in June 2011.
