Looking for a designer watch to add to your collection? Look no further than the Maillon de Cartier. The watch boasts an ingenious design of a chiselled bracelet of chainlinks that are offset and aligned on the bias, which evokes Cartier’s DNA of rhythmic geometry.

New to the French maison, this eye-catching yet petite quartz timepiece plays on classic codes with its graphic and architectural elements, making it a great investment watch to get.

The name Maillon is derived from the French word meaning “link”, and the curved links are indeed the highlight. The 16 x 17mm faceted case blends seamlessly into the bracelet, as though the case and polished links are entwined, which gives the watch a sense of fluidity. It almost feels like you are wearing a bangle, which makes this the perfect investment watch as you’re getting two styles for the price of one.

“We wanted to deconstruct the bracelet and transcend its design through a volume approach. Emotion is in the movement and tension,” says Marie-Laure Cerede, Cartier’s timepieces creation director.

Available in a variety of yellow, pink and white gold, the only version without any diamonds is in 18K yellow gold with a silvered dial with classic Roman numerals, blue hands and sapphire cabochon crown. For a bit more sparkle, the 18K pink gold version with a bezel set with 24 brilliant-cut diamonds and crown set with a brilliant-cut diamond is pure elegance.

The Maillon de Cartier watch is available from $34,600, in stores and at Cartier.sg.
