Carine Roitfeld is set to stage an all-black fashion show at the 65th Cannes Film Festival amidst reports that her daughter has welcomed her first child.
The French star stylist is busy curating a runway presentation in honour of the annual amfAR Cinema Against AIDS gala, which will feature designer contributions that make up the perfect black wardrobe.
The former French Vogue editor has ensured a covetable selection will be on display by calling in creations from her invaluable contacts in the fashion industry including Chanel, Christian Dior, Christopher Kane and Emilio Pucci.
Held on May 24, the designs featured in Cannes first full-blown fashion show will be auctioned off as a single lot.
Undoubtedly the powerful fashionista’s thoughts will be with her daughter, Julia Restoin-Roitfeld.
The 31-year-old model has given birth to her first child with her boyfriend Robert Konjic, it was claimed yesterday.
Announcing the pregnancy last November, Julia’s bump was introduced to the world in a stylish cover shoot for i-D magazine.
Fashion writer Derek Blasberg broke the news of the new Roitfeld arrival on his Twitter profile yesterday.
“Congratulations to proud Momma @RestoinRJulia! (And thus, the chicest grannie ever: Carine Roitfeld!) Can’t wait to meet the beautiful baby!” he wrote.
