Carine Roitfeld says bleached eyebrows “make her crazy”.
The former French Vogue editor cannot understand why there has been a trend for changing the shade of eyebrows. She is well known for her thick versions, which is why the make-up line she created for MAC includes a tool to maintain them.
“Bleaching eyebrows makes me crazy. All the models were bleaching eyebrows. It’s burning, you know. I never liked it. So I’m very happy, this [collaboration] is my revenge… This is the reason there is a pluck in the [MAC] palette, because I need to take off some in the middle,” she told The Cut.
Carine also spoke about her favourite designers. She has formed strong friendships during her time in the industry, which impact the way she dresses.
“My big friend is Riccardo Tisci. So if I don’t wear Riccardo Tisci dress, he’s going to kill me,” she laughed.
“I mix talents and friendship, which is not very professional, but it’s my way of thinking. So I love Azzedine Alaïa, because I’ve known him for 30 years, and he’s making my dresses most of the time. And you know, when you’re living in this world of fashion, when you’re wearing a dress by Alaïa, usually 99 per cent of other designers, they’re OK. But he’s a top. He’s like a master.” – COVER MEDIA
