Christopher Bailey’s latest Burberry store is like a “little piece of England” in the “heart of Milan”.

The luxe label celebrated the launch of its new Via Montenapoleone womenswear store on Thursday, which boasted a guest list of around 600 party-goers.

Bailey – who is Burberry’s chief creative officer – explained that the quintessentially British brand stands proudly in the Italian fashion capital.

“It’s a little piece of England in the heart of Milan,” he told WWD.

Bailey also gushed about his love for the city.

“Milan is like a second home to me. I love Milan: It’s more like a town, with these transient communities that come for fashion week and furniture week, but then you always have this very ‘Milanese’ side that never changes,” he added.

The new boutique boasts an 8,500-square-foot area, which includes an interior courtyard and imposing terrace.

The store stocks both the Burberry Prorsum and Burberry London collections, as well as accessories, fragrances and eyewear.

There are a total of seven Burberry stores in Italy. – COVER MEDIA
