It’s not exactly an everyday sight that we get to witness screaming fans in a shopping mall but when that happens, we know we can definitely expect to spot a hot celebrity or two.

This was exactly what happened last Friday when droves of enthusiastic K-drama fans filled the entrance of Pavilion Kuala Lumpur shopping mall. They were all there to welcome actress Kim Tae Hee, who was flown into Malaysia for the official launch of Bonia’s first flagship boutique. Famous for her roles in Stairway To Heaven, My Princess and Iris, the luminous 36-year-old also made headlines for having recently wedded singer Rain.

The red carpet event saw other celebrities, models and guests the likes of Tong Bing Yu, Aliff Aziz, Debbie Goh, Shir Chong and more toasting to the grand opening of the new store. As the South Korean actress walked the red carpet – flanked by several burly bodyguards, naturally – we spotted her fans screaming her name, snapping photos and filming her arrival on their smartphones.

The other star of the show is well worth checking out in its own right. Designed by Kingsmen Design Pte Ltd, the luxurious setting, clean aesthetics and soft lighting of the new 2,018 sq ft store combine to give a warm welcome to shoppers and fashion lovers. The design elements also reflect Bonia’s broader philosophies, which are modern, elegant and contemporary.

Marrying fashion with the arts, a dedicated Atelier Lounge can also be found in the store. Here, Bonia fans can sign up for exclusive workshops and participate in interactive activities to learn more about bags and accessories with the leather goods expert. But that’s not all; shoppers can also customise their very own designs with the help of Bonia’s exclusive bespoke service.

Moving on to the bags. For S/S ’17, Bonia was inspired by Peru’s landmarks and culture to transform its signature Blossom Flowers into small (and may we add, very gorgeous) 3D embellishments called the Inca-Blossom. This new applique can be found in the Nitza shoulder bags and Moray bucket bags.

From now until March 31, 2017, there’s an in-store giveaway of Bonia’s ‘Blossom Play’. Yes, you’ve guessed it; this refers to the adorable floral charms that can be used to personalise the look of your Bonia straps. Bottomline: If you’re jetting off to Kuala Lumpur soon, be sure to check out Bonia’s spanking new flagship store at Lot 3.101, Level 3, Pavilion Elite (adjacent to Pavilion KL). #HappyShopping!
