You can’t go wrong with a pair of Dr Martens boots. Just slip into a pair to add instant grunge and attitude to even the simplest jeans-and-tee combination. So if you’ve been putting off getting a pair, here’s the perfect opportunity to step out from the crowd with some avant-garde, one-of-a-kind Dr Martens shoes.

Dr Martens and Zouk have joined forces for a unique initiative that saw 19 local creative personalities re-design a pair of limited edition Dr. Martens 1461 3-Eye shoes, with green stitching instead of the usual yellow.

Each personality was given free rein to express their feelings towards Zouk and to incorporate the club’s hip identity into the shoes, with the boots serving as a blank canvas.

The result? A total of 19 pairs of achingly cool boots up for auction, of which all proceeds will go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The Make-A-Wish Foundation aims to grant the dearest wishes of children facing life-threatening illnesses.

The 19 pairs of 1461 boots were unveiled at the Dr Martens x ZOUK #FIRSTEXHIBITION showcase held at Zouk on September 7, 2011, where guests took part in an online bidding auction for their favourite pair. The hottest designs by designer Chia Wei Choong from local label Antebellum, as well as the Zouk team, were snapped up very quickly.

If you didn’t get to ogle at the shoes, don’t fret – here’s your chance to get a slice of the action. The remaining 17 pairs of shoes left from the auction are now up for grabs on eBay, where you can bid for the pair you want in an online charity auction.

Hurry though, because the auction ends very soon on October 14. View all 17 boots and start bidding now at myworld.ebay.com.sg/zouksingapore
