The Shanghai International Film Festival kicked off on Saturday night, June 12, 2015 with an assemblage of gorgeous looking stars. Scroll down to see whose looks we loved and the stars who didn’t impress.

#1 Fan Bing Bing

This red carpet darling made it to our list with no surprise. She was dressed in a dreamy Stéphane Rolland couture gown from the Fall 2014 collection, accessorised with Chopard jewelry. Quite loving the dramatic sheer, chiffon embroidered skirt. Though I would have traded the clashing red lipstick for something more deep, and gone tone-on-tone with the burgundy shade.

#2 Lynn Xiong

This is my favourite look. Lynn Xiong stole the limelight with a baby blue dress with intricate floral cut outs that resembled a Chinese ‘qi pao’. She looks ravishing in this tight fitting number, as it accentuated her curves perfectly.

#3 Aaron Kwok

After the picture of his perfectly sculpted body #broketheinternet, I was definitely excited to see his choice of outfit for the red carpet. I liked how he eschewed the usual black suit and opted for a colourful printed suit. Wonder if he exchanged words with his former beau Lynn Xiong, who was also in attendance.

#3 Zhang Rong Rong

This Taiwanese-French starlet keeps her look classy and elegant in a black Saint Laurent tulle gown. Here’s the stunner: the Harry Winston jewellery she wore costs more than $2 million. The ring on her finger is approximately 5 carats and is estimated to cost about $800,000.

#4 Eddie Peng

Taiwanese heartthrob Eddie Peng was in attendance for his upcoming movie, To The Fore. He is looking very dapper and suave in his textured matching suit. That pocket square brings the perfect sartorial touch to the outfit.

#5 Ruby Lin

Ruby Lin graced the occasion in a baby blue halter dress from Taiwanese fashion house, Shiatzy Chen. The dress is simple and elegant in its design, but Ruby’s fair skin and slim physique didn’t seem to hold the dress up well, making her look slightly washed out.

#5 Bea Hayden

Bea Hayden kept it simple in a billowing halter neck dress, slightly resembling a greek goddess. She looked lovely, but the outfit was a little too safe to make any impression.
