Anna Dello Russo calls Victoria Beckham’s designs “incredible”.

The Italian fashion magazine editor praised the singer-turned-designer’s efforts during the current New York Fashion Week.

“It’s incredible. Victoria has completely proven herself and created a whole new career – she is a true fashion designer. Her aesthetic and the hand-writing of her collections is really clear,” Anna gushed to Grazila Daily. “And the Victoria, Victoria Beckham show was so clever, she has such a good eye. This is the way women are dressing now in Milan in her simple but beautiful dresses. Everyone loves her in Italy.”

Victoria’s second line, Victoria, Victoria Beckham showcased at New York Fashion Week yesterday. The Spring/Summer 13 collection was a youthful and accessible fashion range consisting of day dresses and frocks alone.

The pieces range from thigh skimming khaki fit and flare cotton-canvas dresses to complicated silk pieces. Some were sleeveless block coloured shifts in lemon and taupe, others featured palm trees, or a beautiful elongated bird, all developed in-house.

Various pieces had contrasting bodices: long sleeved lace or translucent, pin-tucked gazaar fronts with silk skirts.

Victoria was heralded for producing a line of dresses that many say will be on trend for many seasons to come.

Anna explained how she also had her heart won over by Marc Jacobs’s designs during his catwalk show. The current Vogue Japan editor-at-large explained how she expects nothing less from the talented designer.

“Marc was, of course, fantastic – he is such a total institution here, and this season there were so many strong looks,” Anna revealed. “The whole experience was like being in a stadium, his shows are always so exciting.” – COVER MEDIA
