Day three of Digital Fashion Week 2014 saw the works of Thai labels including Flynow, Tube Gallery and Rotsaniyom, as well as Singapore womenswear label Pauline Ning and more on the runway.

Held at the National Design Centre on November 2, 2014, the Thai fashion showcase gave the audience a peek of what to expect when the Siam Paragon Bangkok International Fashion Week 2014 runs from November 6 to 9, 2014, right after Digital Fashion Week Singapore.

Singapore label Pauline Ning, who also showed on the same day, presented her Spring Summer 2015 collection on the runway, which the designer described as “encapsulating femininity and elegance with sporty luxe touches”. In a first for the designer, sporty bralettes have been included in her line; just a peek of them could be seen under the dresses.

Here, we suss out the best dresses we saw on this third eventful day at Digital Fashion Week 2014.

1. The dress with the Midas touch

Everyone loves a chic but not cheap-looking metallic dress, right? This frock from Thai label Fri27Nov isn’t too in-your-face about the touch of gold either. The main metallic crackle-effect bodice appears almost like shimmering mermaid scales; the sheer black panel below keeps the hemline modest, while giving the party dress that playful peek-a-boo effect.

2. The romantic print dress

This piece from Thai womenswear label Tube Gallery features a marble overlay skirt, floating ephemerally on the model as she walked down the runway. The sculptural bodice on top gives it a more structured fit. Should we ever be lucky enough to get to wear this frock, we’d be tempted to belt it at the waist too, as seen in the brand’s Autumn Winter 2014 campaign.

3. The edgy new party dress

Who knew menswear-inspired fashion could look so unexpectedly feminine? But that’s exactly what Thai designer Vatanika Patamasingha Na Ayudhaya has done for this dress. Her eponymous label takes cues from the boys by taking apart what appears to be a pinstripe blazer and transforming it into a body-hugging dress; that girly touch of lace makes the dress so fun to twirl around in too.

4. The bridal shirtdress

Thai designer label Rotsaniyom sent a lovely feathery lace creation onto the runway, with a trailing train of tulle and all. This was an unfussy dress for the stylish modern bride — it was easy to move in, for the lace and tulle “train” was attached like a cape on the shoulders. The midi A-line skirt of this dress too, was unrestricted; concealed by the lace train, the sexy slit at the back meant that the model moved effortlessly, unencumbered by the midi skirt.

5. The sexy sequin dress

Glamazons we know will look statuesque in this slinky, sparkly column dress from Flynow Gold Label, the eveningwear range of top Thai label Flynow. Worn by up-and-coming Thai model Yoghurt, this dress features a spiraling graphic that appears almost embossed in sequins, while encircling the model’s curves so beautifully.

6. The sporty-sexy evening dress

The top dress from Pauline Ning was this piece which is bang on-trend with the sports luxe details. Worn here by Jourdan Miller, winner of America’s Next Top Model Cycle 20, the fluid lines contrasted with the neon pink lining from the sports bralette worn underneath.

The Pauline Ning and BIFW (Bangkok International Fashion Week) 2014 Thai Designer Collective presented by Siam Paragon shows were both held on November 2, 2014 at the National Design Centre, as part of Digital Fashion Week 2014.
