Officially opening on October 1 2015, Pedder on Scotts is just about our favourite place right now, kind of like a playground for adults! With the e-commerce landscape expanding and innovating every which way, it has become increasingly harder for brick-and-mortar stores to hold the same appeal that they used to with customers. However, with Pedder on Scotts, the famous Pedder Group has really struck an inviting balance.

The space is gorgeously designed, with each of its 7 shoes and accessories zones organised by style and shopper, whilst it also houses an exhibition space, beauty pop-up bar, phone charging station and world-class coffee bar. Here are our 5 top reasons for why you’ll need to add this store to your must-visit list of Singapore spots:

#1 You’ll sight urban (sneaker) legends

When the herworldPLUS team visited the space yesterday, there were squeals of delight when my colleague spotted the newest Adidas sneakers that she had had her eye on forever. I quote: “These shoes are like urban legends!” If you’re a sneaker head who is constantly on the hunt for the ‘stuff of myths’ street footwear, you’ll have to head down to Scotts Square to grab them while you can. You can finally purchase your pixelated dream in the flesh.

#2 Your man and kids won’t complain while you shop

We’re all familiar with the sight, the long-suffering, shopping bag laden gentleman patiently waiting for his woman while she tries on item after item. I’ve often felt sorry for these poor guys and the crying kids which sometimes accompany them. Pedder on Scotts is brilliantly family friendly. There are zones for men’s and ‘Cool Kids’’ shoes and bags, featuring sunglasses worn by Beyonce’s little girl, Blue, and many a colourful and shiny thing for them to play with. The On Pedder Mens section is equally dapper, with an interior decorated like the set of Mad Men and hard to find brands such as WANT Les Essentiels and Common Projects.

#3 You can try on, shop and meet the stars of your Instagram feed

On Pedder stocks the latest and greatest in the footwear world from cult classics and street style favourites like the Aquazurra lace-up flats to the names to know in shoes right now: Gianvito Rossi’s sexy heels and Charlotte Olympia’s kitty cat flats. The store will also be regularly hosting designers in store; Nicholas Kirkwood will be in town to celebrate his brand’s 10th anniversary by presenting his birthday collection and the ingenious duo behind sneaker brand APL and footwear darling Paul Andrew will be at upcoming events.

#4 You’ll be in the largest Pedder store, ever!

The store officially has the largest range of designer shoes and accessories in one space in Asia, so you know you’ve got your pick of the best when it comes to shopping for your workwear heels and weekend flip flops. In fact, the store has a designated ‘Weekend’ zone for your favourite Melissa jelly shoes and luxe flip flops by Brazilian brand Uzurrii.

#5 You can get your gourmet caffeine fix post-shop

Perhaps the best element for all you coffee fiends out there is that beloved Hong Kong coffee connoisseurs, The Coffee Academics, are finally making their way to Singapore. After a taste-testing yesterday, we can assure you that even the custom house blend is divine. From the official opening this Thursday, October 1st, baristas will be on hand to craft you a special cuppa, but the real fun begins in November when the 3000 square foot concept space will open. Forget hipster haunts, this in-store cafe will have a place to create your own custom blends whilst enjoying the ambience.

One last thing, Pedder on Scotts has reinvented the ‘Customer Service’ desk. If your iPhone runs out of juice or you want to stop and peruse some international magazines, drop by the kiosk and it’s all there for you and your clan. See you there, ladies!
