Singapore Fashion Week (SGFW) kicks off this week, but while all eyes are on Taiwan-born, New York-based designer Jason Wu who famously dressed former First Lady Michelle Obama, we’re also keeping a close watch on our home-grown designers and brands. These four local labels are making us grip the edge of our seats even before SGFW has started, as we browse their designs that are now available at Zalora.sg.
The best thing yet? The designs are perfect for the office. Read on to find out more about these fashion labels and see our top picks.

Ginlee Studio
Ginlee Studio Snow Top In Light Blue, $168
Ginlee Studio Shell Vest In Black, $188
Fashion label GINLEE Studio wasn’t founded in Singapore. It started in 2010 in Israel by Singaporean designer Gin Lee. It wasn’t until 2015 that the designer decided to debut her label in her home country. The reason for the label’s success in both Israel and Singapore is simple: her designs are practical and easy to wear. While comfort is a key element in the pieces, design is also at the forefront, evident from the unique details that her creations boast.

Ling Wu
Ling Wu x Onlewo Siu Jie Blue Botanical, $320
Goh Ling Ling has always been passionate about fashion, but her inspiration for Ling Wu came largely from her mother, who not only helped set up the family’s garment factory, but also had an extensive wardrobe that included vintage handbags. To Ling, who is the ZALORA Style Awards 2017 Designer of the Year winner, a good handbag shouldn’t just be on-trend, but also functional and made with quality materials. She adds: “I believe a great bag should never live within the confines of the latest trend, but should live with purpose as a close and honest friend to whoever owns it.”
