Those of us lucky enough to have visited New York, know that it is love at first sight. Who can forget the charming townhouses on the Upper East Side, the serene tree-lined Central Park or the magical New York cityscape you can see from atop the Empire State Building?

For many others, New York holds other special memories, especially those couples who’ve fallen head over heels in love at these romantic spots. And right in the center of it all is the place where dreams come true and where love blossoms – the legendary Tiffany & Co. on Fifth Avenue.

On June 2, Tiffany & Co. launched their latest endeavour to make their name even more synonymous with amour. The “What Makes Love True” website is bound to please all die-hard romantics.

The highlight of the website is the documentary-style film by notable filmmaker, Edward Burns. Called “Will You Marry Me?”, this short film follows six New York couples as they share their love stories, from how they met and fell in love to how they proposed and got married.

Shot against beautiful scenes of the city, the film is poignant and romantic as only real love stories are.

The website is divided into four different sections, Love Stories, The Art of Romance, Tiffany’s New York and Love is Everywhere.

Love Stories is a compilation of audio stories from 10 couples sharing their fairy-tale romances; The Art of Romance introduces classic love songs and movies as well as Tiffany Tips – nuggets of advice on how to keep the love alive.

Tiffany’s New York collates all the most romantic places in New York, and recommends spots for loved-up couples to visit, whether they prefer to admire the scenery, visit cultural attractions or go for a candlelit meal.

Love is Everywhere gives couples a chance to mark their spot on the New York map and dedicate a special place in the vast city which is extra special to them. Visitors to the website can drag a heart icon onto the map and tag it with their initials.

All these features of the What Makes Love True website are also available on the What Makes Love True iPhone app, which can be downloaded for free from the iTunes store.

More than just a jewellery store with the robin’s egg blue box, Tiffany & Co. will perhaps be forever be intrinsically tied to love and romance, and that’s just the way they like it.

Tiffany & Co. is located at Takashimaya, Raffles Hotel, The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands and DFS Galleria Scottswalk. Visit www.whatmakeslovetrue.com to access all these features.
