PARIS - Legendary designer Karl Largerfeld says he has to be careful not to talk about the people who impress him too much because others he likes get jealous.
The creative director of French fashion house Chanel has worked with beautiful women across a variety of industries’ including Keira Knightley, Lily Allen and Blake Lively.
“Muses are something very flexible in fashion. I have more than one, but I can never mention them because then the other ones will be very sick that they were not mentioned,” he told British Glamour.
“Timeless muses are people like Amanda Harlech, Stella Tennant, even Claudia Schiffer. I did a campaign with her and she was beyond perfect.”
Always impeccably dressed himself, the 77-year-old German commented that a lot of modern women don’t put in enough effort when it comes to their outfits.
But he also stressed that sometimes, an over-styled look doesn’t work.
“Today, women wear jeans and T-shirts and they look like boys. You should have an impeccable shirt, good jeans and a perfect jacket, at least,” he said.
“Style is what suits you and what makes you look at your best. But there are some situations where too much style is not the right thing in certain circumstances.” © COVER MEDIA
