Michelle Yeoh stranded in Nepal after earthquake B.png

The bad: Michelle Yeoh and her hubby Jean Todt are trapped in Nepal. The good: They’ve escaped unscathed and are awaiting rescue as we speak.

Here’s what we know. Mr and Mrs Michelle Yeoh – the former being a mogul in the motoring world and president of world racing watchdog Federation Internationale De L’Automobile (FIA) – were gracing the first Asia-Pacific Sport Regional Congress in Kathmandu when Saturday’s calamity slammed into the capital.

News portal Malaysian Digest says the venerated veteran of the Asian showbiz scene was fraternizing with various vehicular folks at an official hotel function when the seismic shocks started to rattle the room. They fled the as-yet unnamed hotel and are currently seeking refuge in the ravaged nation.

Meanwhile, here’s the FIA’s official statement on the calamity that has left its president stranded in the country’s midst: “In the coming days, the FIA will investigate the possibility of establishing a fund for charitable donations to be made to the people of Nepal as they attempt to rebuild their lives from this disaster.” Good on you, FIA, and glad to know Michelle’s fine.

And guys, consider checking out this useful list of NGOs if you’ll like to assist in the rescue and recovery efforts. Sending survivors in the ravaged region lots of positive vibes!
