Where are they at and why are they clutching such cute puppies? The internet has this royal couple’s New Zealand tour to thank, for this seemingly random but oh-so-adorable photo.

At their rainy last day in Wellington on April 16, 2014, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge made a visit to the Royal New Zealand Police College, right before jetting off to Sydney, Australia this afternoon with their son Prince George.

After touring the college, the royal pair were led to meet police dogs in training; in short, these young German Shepherd puppies that they cuddled in their arms, as seen in the snap above.

Even on a rainy, dreary morning, the duchess looked as elegant as always, in a tweed skirt suit by New Zealand designer Rebecca Taylor with her ever-favourite Alexander McQueen pumps. On that rare sunny day earlier this week, the duchess was seen wearing a peplum skirt suit even while playing cricket.

The couple will resume the second half of their three-week Austrasia tour in Sydney today, and are expected to visit the Sydney Opera House — of course — on their first day in Australia.
