Prime-time dramas from SBS, one of South Korea’s three major networks, will be aired on cable TV within 24 hours of their first telecast at home. This is much faster than the previous window of three to four weeks.

Korean entertainment cable channel One made the announcement on Monday morning as part of its “commitment to presenting fresh and top-rated content” to viewers. The dramas will be aired with subtitles in English, Chinese and Malay.

One has carried SBS hit dramas such as My Love From The Star (2014) and The Inheritors (2013).

The new broadcast arrangement will kick in on May 28 with the premiere of SBS’s latest offering, the melodrama Mask, starring veteran actress Soo Ae, heartthrob Joo Ji Hoon and Hoya of boyband Infinite.

The next drama on the fast track is the romance High Society, premiering on June 9. The cast includes leggy Uee from girlgroup After School, model-turned-actor Sung Joon and boyish Park Hyung Sik from boyband ZE:A member.
