Dolce and Gabbana beauty spring summer 2012
There is no stopping the wing this Spring.

We’re talking about the statement winged eyeliner trend, of course, which ruled the runways at the Spring Summer 2012 shows.

At Dolce & Gabbana, makeup artist Pat McGrath created a slightly elongated upper lash line, combined with false lashes.

And the wing was even longer at New York Fashion Week where Ruffian extended it almost all the way to the eyebrow.

Meanwhile, at the London shows, Jonathan Saunders paid tribute to the late Amy Winehouse with a heavy 60s-inspired liner.

Makeup artists everywhere agree – there is no liner like the pot liner. Here are some of the best.

Maybelline Eye Studio Gel Eyeliner –A smooth formula that glides on easily, making it easy to achieve smooth lines and sharp corner flicks. Highly pigmented so a little goes a long way.

MAC Fluidline Eyeliner –Superb in texture and pigmentation. Favoured by those who like to work with liquid liners. However, best used with a primer as it might smudge.

Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Liner –Long-wearing, water-resistant colour that has the look of liquid liner but the feel of a gel formula. Can be used on the water line and stays on well even in a hot, humid climate.

Clinique Brush-On Cream Liner –Waterproof, smudge-proof and goes on creamy. Very easy to get a fine line or build up. Comes with a good brush, too. © Cover Media
