Melissa: Check the back of the item where the ingredients are listed. You’ll find a little icon of an opened jar that indicates how long you can keep the product once it’s been opened.
If the icon has “12M” printed on it, that means the product is good for up to 12 months after first use. For smaller items like mascaras and concealers, the icon is sometimes printed in the boxes they come in.
