When Sephora at Ion Orchard reopens this Friday, Urban Decay will be launching their Vice lipstick collection featuring 100 brand new shades at a fairly affordable $29 each. It’s got everything from bold shades to brights, and dark sultry shades to wearable neutrals, depending on your mood. The brand has also launched some new finishes like sheer shimmer and metallized to the range, giving you everything from sheer natural lips to bold metallic ones.
My personal favourites? The cream, metallized, and comfort matte finishes. Some of the lighter metallized ones might need a lip liner beneath, but they are truly stunning. To give you a reason to head on down on opening day, here are ten pink, peach, mauve and neutral nudes, sorted by the best fit for each skin tone.
Lipsticks (L-R): Barfly (cream), Trick (metallized), Heartless (comfort matte), Unicorn (comfort matte), Weirdo (cream)
Urban Decay Vice Lipstick Swatches (L-R): Barfly (cream), Trick (metallized), Heartless (comfort matte), Unicorn (comfort matte), Weirdo (cream)
Barfly and Trick are great neutral shades and while heartless may come off as quite pink, it’s such a gorgeous mid-toned pink shade on fair skin. Unicorn is my favourite with its peach tones, and the last swatch Weirdo makes for a nice deep pinky nude that also suits medium skin tones.
Lipsticks (L-R): Morning After (sheer), Weirdo (cream), Interrogate (cream), Uptight (comfort matte)
Urban Decay Vice Lipstick Swatches (L-R): Morning After (sheer), Weirdo (cream), Interrogate (cream), Uptight (comfort matte)
Morning After is a lovely rosy nude, made a lot more wearable because of how sheer it is. What I love is that the colour can be built up with more swipes from the bullet. Weirdo is the second swatch, and you can see here how different it looks on my medium skin as compared to the fair skin swatch above. It looks significantly more pink here, but just as pretty. As a fan of peachy nudes, Interrogate is my favourite, with Uptight looking more neutral than rosy here – very similar to Kat Von D’s Lolita.
Lipsticks (L-R): Uptight (comfort matte), Ravenswood (cream), Sheer Rapture (sheer)
Urban Decay Vice Lipstick Swatches (L-R): Uptight (comfort matte), Ravenswood (cream), Sheer Rapture (sheer)
Uptight here was also swatched on medium skin, and you can see the distinct difference in the two. It looks like a gorgeous peachy shade here, and would be a great daytime shade. Ravenswood is a lot more mauve, which is a great option if you’re into deep pink or berry shades but want something more wearable. Sheer Rapture is again buildable, and very similar in colour to Ravenswood. It’s a happy medium between lip gloss and lipstick if full-on colours aren’t your thing.
