A teaser for the upcoming Yves Saint Laurent Opium fragrance commercial starring Emily Blunt has been revealed.
The behind-the-scenes video from the making of the commercial, which will air in December, sees British actress Blunt portraying a woman desperately hunting for the iconic Opium fragrance.
The star leaves a mysterious party as she searches for the perfume, with her quest even including an encounter a snow leopard.
Blunt, who rose to fame in fashion movie The Devil Wears Prada, was announced as the new face of Opium back in September. She follows in the footsteps of models such as Linda Evangelista and Sophie Dahl in fronting the scent, which was created in 1977.
At a time when fragrance campaigns featuring actress spokesmodels are ubiquitous (Eva Mendes for Thierry Mugler’s Angel, Megan Fox for Armani Code Woman, Evan Rachel Wood for Gucci Guilty), Blunt explains in the video why she felt comfortable making the crossover to modeling.
“I was given a story to play, and for me as an actress that’s very exciting. I’m not just posing or just trying to sell something,” she said.
The Opium print campaign starring Blunt and shot by French fashion photographer Patrick Demarchelier was released earlier this year. –AFP RELAXNEWS
