Tips for an almost painless wax
Whether you wax lyrical about your Brazilian or prefer a close shave in the shower, hair removal can be a painful business.

But if you’re dreading your pre-holiday de-fuzz, panic not, there are indeed some techniques to make the often ouch-laden process a little bit more bearable.

Prepare to ditch the razors and smile at silky smooth stems.

Exfoliate
Always exfoliate a day ahead of a wax. Scrub your skin to remove dead cells, this will help lift hair right out of the follicle. The Sanctuary’s Body Scrub with patchouli and orange will leave your skin feeling silky smooth.

Desensitise
Rub on BareEase Cream which, with its mild aesthetic, will work to numb your skin for up to 20 minutes. Don’t be tempted to use ice to numb your skin as it will only encourage follicles to contract.

Wax
With the applicator, paste on the wax against the direction of the hair once and then over again with the direction of the hair. Lay over a strip and leave to cool. Pull the end tab back directly over the strip in one quick motion.

Moisturise
Soften your skin with Veet Anti Ingrown hair cream, which will gently exfoliate and leave your skin feeling smooth and soft.

Exfoliate
Buff your waxed area every day for the next week with an exfoliating mitt. The Body Shop’s Bath Glove will wipe away any unwanted ingrown hairs. © Cover Media
