Unlike Rihanna and Amal Clonney, few of us are lucky enough to own a piece from couture designer Giambattista Valli. Until now.
We’re talking about the designer’s first collab with beauty brand M.A.C, which had us waiting with bated breath to swatch all the items in the collection – five stunning matte lippies ($34 each) and one iridescent gloss ($39), to be exact. And they definitely did not disappoint.
My pick from the collection is Eugenie, a gorgeous blackened cherry red matte lipstick. Why? It’s a must-have for rocking the glam grunge-inspired dark lip trend that we’ve been spotting all over F/W 15 runways. The lipstick glided on smoothly and stayed relatively flawless for about six hours – even through dinner and a round of drinks. Very impressive.

Other hues you can expect in this collection’s line-up of matte lipsticks: Bianca B, a pale-white pink; Charlotte, a dark cool red; Margherita, a medium coral-orange and the medium fuchsia shade, Tats.
Plus, this is the first time that the brand has colour-matched its lipstick tubes to the shade inside – to make it easier for you to know which colour you’re grabbing, of course. Time to update your lipstick wardrobe, ladies.
The M.A.C X Giambattisa Valli collection is available from September 12 at the M.A.C store in Ngee Ann City; and from September 13 at the M.A.C store in Bugis Junction, Sephora Ion and the M.A.C counter at Tangs @ Tangs Plaza.
