BEST CLEANSE

Anyone who’s even remotely into beauty products will have been familiar with EVE LOM’s cleanser for years.

Launched three decades ago, it’s a solid balm that melts as you massage it into skin. It’s removed with a muslin cloth, taking off makeup and dirt, and exfoliates without leaving skin dry or tight. Fans of the EVE LOM cleanser include model Rosie Huntington-Whitely, actress Sienna Miller and beauty expert Lisa Eldridge, all famous for their glowing skin.

The cleanser was the brand’s first product and remains its cornerstone – the EVE LOM philosophy is that clean skin is the canvas for skincare. Women love the ritual of the muslin cloth, but the brand also recognises that they’re time-pressured. So it developed Gel Balm Cleanser ($105), which cleanses just as well as the original balm, but without the need for the cloth.

How it works: Massage a pump or two of the light gel into wet skin and it transforms into a milky emulsion. Clove, eucalyptus, hops and chamomile oil (all present in the original cleanser) dissolve impurities and makeup, even waterproof mascara. Shea butter and grapeseed oil moisturise skin. Like the original cleanser, this gel has a light botanical fragrance. It can be removed with a splash of warm water, leaving skin feeling fresh and clean, with no residue, and glowing.

The new no-fuss cleanser is suitable for all skin types and ideal for travel or use in the shower. Alternate it with the original cleanser for when you want extra exfoliation or a bit of pampering “me time”.

Available at Sephora, Sephora.sg and Escentials.
