Mon Guerlain Eau de Parfum Florale is a fragrance for the modern woman

This fragrance is a love letter to the multifaceted modern woman and the brand’s storied past

Its classic glamour, luxe ingredients and gutsy approach to perfume-making have brought about many unforgettable fragrances. Now, these elements of Guerlain’s perfume heritage have found their way into the house’s latest creation – Mon Guerlain Eau de Parfum Florale.

A sister fragrance to Mon Guerlain, it gives a nod to its history from the outset. It comes housed in the brand’s iconic quadrilobe bottle (so named because the stopper resembles four lobes) – designed by company boss Gabriel Guerlain in 1908 and crafted at the time from Baccarat crystal. Simple, graphic, but with a vintage streak, the flacon was based on old-school alchemist bottles and has held some of the brand’s most memorable creations, such as Jicky.

Inspired by the many different facets of its muse, Angelina Jolie – actress, mother, activist, icon – Mon Guerlain Eau de Parfum Florale sets out to capture a new dimension of femininity. It’s about the modern emancipated woman, her pride and determination, strength and tenderness. And in the house’s true fashion, it does this with the same brave “go big or go home” approach that characterises its most renowned fragrances.

Announcing its presence like a giant bouquet of flowers and macarons, this fresh floriental delivers a gust of sweetness courtesy of Tahitian vanilla – a favourite of many Guerlain perfumers and used in some of the brand’s classics like Shalimar.

Its caramel-like warmth is balanced by the central note of peony for the scent’s floral heart and a touch of freshness.

The effect is more summer garden party, less sexy boudoir. This impression is deepened by Carla lavender, whose elegant, masculine scent makes it a fine and rare species of the plant.

As a final flourish, it goes to town with sambac jasmine (one of perfumery’s top-tier ingredients), playing it up in an unusual and striking move. This rounds off the fragrance on a luminous, floral note while amplifying the lavender-vanilla accord. The result is a creation that honours the women who inspired it as well as the spirit of Guerlain.
