Boscia Tsubaki Cleansing Oil-gel (150ml), $41
USING IT: Made for damp skin, the cleanser has a luscious, satiny texture. Its hydrating formula moisturised my skin with tsubaki oil and Japanese sea kelp.
THE EFFECT: My waterproof eyeliner and long-wearing lipstick came off effortlessly after the first wash, leaving my skin pure, smooth and soft.
I love how gentle and effective the formula is, as well as the lingering floral scent after rinse-off.
Bliss Fabulous Makeup Melt Gel-to-oil Cleanser (125ml), $48
USING IT: Unlike richer oil formulas, this gel cleanser transformed into a surprisingly lightweight cleansing oil that felt extremely refreshing.
It was gentle on my skin and had an uplifting, sweet citrusy scent with notes of orange, lavender and sage.
THE EFFECT: Makeup and impurities melted away after my first wash, except for faint traces of waterproof eyeliner.
I loved that the cleanser lifted off excess sebum without stripping skin of moisture – it left my face glowing.
Shu Uemura Oleo:moist Active-encapsulated Cleansing Oil Gel (150g), $50
USING IT: The cleanser is as mess-free as a gel, and as effective as the iconic cleansing oils Shu Uemura is known for.
Its micro-vitamin E capsules felt like ultra-fine beads on my skin. Japanese muguet herb helped to hydrate, and the cleansing oil had a nice green, floral scent.
THE EFFECT: Dirt, dullness and makeup were cleansed away. Even my long-wearing eyeliner and mascara were thoroughly removed.
But it did take slightly longer to wash off. My skin appeared clear, bright and plump after that.
Kose Infinity Pure Advance Oil Cleansing Gel (120g), $49
USING IT: The cleanser felt delicate and nourishing on my tired skin after a long day. Transforming into a silky oil, it helps replenish moisture while cleansing skin.
THE EFFECT: An effective cleanser that dissolves dirt and makeup while cleaning out pores gently.
Some traces of long-wearing eyeliner and mascara were still visible after the first wash. However, I love that it soothed my sensitised skin and plumped it up.
