Award: Best Anti-Ageing Serum for Wrinkles – Editor’s Choice (Department / Speciality Store)

The Winner: ORBIS Wrinkle White Essence

It’s said that one tube of ORBIS Wrinkle White Essence is sold every minute in Japan. And there’s a good reason why this is so. The hardworking multitasker helps you save time on your morning and evening skincare routine as it not only targets fine lines and wrinkles, but also helps keep hyperpigmentation and dark spots at bay.

The key active ingredient in this serum is the approved quasi-drug W-Niacin. A derivative of the fan-favourite niacinamide (also known as vitamin B3), W-Niacin helps to boost collagen production, plumping skin from within to reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles, and give it a youthful bounce.

At the same time, W-Niacin also prevents melanin from transferring to the skin’s surface. This, in turn, reduces melanin build-up, preventing the formation of dark spots, while lightening the appearance of existing pigmentation. Now, how’s that for a serum that works doubly hard?

To complement its effects, rosemary and safflower extracts in the formula help bind collagen together for firmer skin. The two extracts also nurture skin cells so that they do not store excess melanin, keeping your complexion even and bright.

For best results, apply ORBIS Wrinkle White Essence all over the face before moisturiser, day and night.

What happened when we tried it

Its fragrance-free formula is perfect for all skin types, including sensitive skin – the serum didn’t irritate our somewhat sensitive skin. We also found that it helped keep comedones and acne at bay, making it suitable for even oily and acne-prone skin.

It applied smoothly, absorbed quickly, and left a matte finish that wasn’t drying – great for dealing with Singapore’s humidity. With regular use, our skin felt softer as well. In a week, we noticed that the fine lines on our forehead seemed less pronounced and the pigmentation on our cheeks seemed lighter.

The unanimous verdict by our testers: Skin looks radiant and hydrated, even the crow’s feet at the eye area look slightly less obvious.

ORBIS Wrinkle White Essence is priced at $74, and available at #B2-03A Takashimaya, Metro Causeway Point (M Beauty), Metro Paragon (M Beauty), Welcia-BHG, selected Tokyu Hands outlets, and the ORBIS online store.
