STEP 1: BEGIN WITH SKINCARE
Always prime your skin. After cleansing, use your hands to pat some toner on and then apply a serum followed by a moisturising sunscreen. If you have dry skin, you may want to use moisturiser on your cheeks prior to sunscreen.
STEP 2: APPLY FOUNDATION
Starting from the centre of your face, apply foundation in outward motions. A liquid formula is usually easier to apply quickly than a powder one. It needs less blending and is unlikely to look patchy and mask-like. For best results, use a sculpting brush with broad sides, like the 13rushes Flat Top Sculpting brush, $19.80, to spread foundation.
STEP 3: CONCEAL SKIN DISCOLOURATION UNDER YOUR EYES
If you have dark circles, dot and blend a light-reflecting concealer on the inner and outer corners of the under-eye area. A lightweight formula with a warm undertone, like Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Concealer, $50, neutralises greyness.

STEP 4: CONCEAL BLEMISHES
To hide imperfections, warm up concealer on the back of your hand before using a synthetic brush or your fingers to dot it on blemishes, then blend lightly. Try a high-coverage one such as M.A.C Pro Longwear Concealer, $36. Layer it on a bit at a time. Use too much and it’ll emphasise your flaws.
