Whenever I’m asked to guess someone’s age, I would
roll my eyes look for two age-revealing signs: Nasolabial folds and wrinkly hands.
There isn’t very much you can do about deep nasolabial folds except to get dermal fillers.
(With that said, you should not skip anti-ageing face creams as they can help to delay skin ageing and maintain the look of your skin.)
HOW YOUR HANDS REVEAL YOUR AGE
The skin on your hands is quite thin. And because of that, our hands tend to look wrinkly as we lose fat underneath the skin when we get older.
What’s more, our hands come into contact with water and soap more frequently, stripping them of their natural moisture, leaving them dry and rough.
HOW TO ANTI-AGE YOUR HANDS
To truly anti-age your hands without undergoing any aesthetic treatments, here’s what you should do:
After applying toner, and massaging your facial serums, and moisturisers on your face, apply whatever remaining product left on your palms on the back of your hands.
Follow with sunscreen on the back of your hands.
DON’T THROW OUT THE HAND CREAMS YET
Lastly, keep your hand creams handy (I like to have one in my bag, one at my desk, and one next to my bed) to keep your hands well-moisturised throughout the day.
Remember to use a hand cream, and not a body lotion.
This is because hand creams are designed to to be more nourishing and hydrating, to ensure that your hands stay smooth, comfortable and moisturised for longer periods of time.
